Submitting Your Artwork

All non-vector images should be supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi and at the actual print size required. Full colour artwork must contain CMYK colour only, if you have RGB files these should be converted to CMYK prior to submission. Any RGB images submitted will be automatically converted to CMYK by our software and this may result in unpredictable colour output. If in any doubt, you should request a proof.

In the case of full colour artwork any spot colours specified will be converted to the nearest CMYK equivalent unless we expressly agree to do otherwise. In the case of single or two colour printing we have an in-house set of pantone colours we use and any specific colours will need to be quoted for separately.

For example if you have requested a two colour job to be printed in red and blue we would use the pantone colours warm red and reflex blue, however specific pantones will be used if requested and cost is agreed. All Fonts should either be embedded in the case of PDF or EPS files or converted to curves or paths.

All artwork requires a bleed edge and this should set to overlap the finished document by 3mm on all sides, also any text or vital graphics should be at least 3mm from the document edge in order to allow for any trimming.

Please do not impose any artwork, for example if your artwork is a booklet and you are supplying this in a multi page file then each page of the booklet should be on a separate page in the file and each page should follow on in a logical order 1,2,3… Do not use any options that allow you to print pages 2up or facing pages on the same sheet, this will make the job very difficult for us to handle and will incur an extra charge.

FORMATS
PDF Format (Preferred)

The quickest and easiest method of submitting your artwork is by PDF (Portable Document File). Many software programmes enable you to export your artwork as a PDF and this can usually be found in the menu. >File >Export As.

Alternatively to create a PDF file from whatever software you are using you can print it to a virtual PDF printer, this will create the PDF file for you. All you have to do is print your file in the normal way and the only difference should be that the printer driver will ask you where to save the file. There are many of these printers available free on the internet but in case you have any difficulty finding one then try the following link

To read the file you can use the free reader provided by adobe this can be found at http://www.adobe.co.uk/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Please bear in mind that while a PDF file will solve many problems with submitting artwork some things can still go wrong and you should always check the on-screen proof carefully before approving for print.
